Sometimes all you need is a little break from the noise, stress and endless rush of our busy schedule. A chance to breathe, reset, and just enjoy nature. If you’ve been craving that kind of escape, let me put you on to a place worth visiting — Bunso Eco Park.
Bunso Eco Park is located in the Eastern Region of Ghana, about a two to three-hour drive from Accra. The best part is that it’s super easy to find since it’s right by the roadside. Whether you’re planning a solo trip or going with friends, it’s a perfect escape from the city.
I went on a weekday, and because it had rained the day before, I couldn’t explore as much as I wanted to. If you plan to go, I’ll strongly recommend a weekend or public holiday when all the activities are running. And trust me, don’t go right after it rains it makes it hard to enjoy everything properly.

Entry & Activities
Entry was ₵30, which included access to only the canopy walk. It’s not as high as Kakum’s, but it still gives you that little adrenaline rush, stretching across six parts with a lovely view of the forest.

Then came the zipline, and that was a whole experience! I won’t lie, I was scared at first because of the height, but once I let go, it was so much fun. Definitely something I’d do again when I go back.
Other activities include the adult swing, cocoa tour, and horse riding. I couldn’t try the horse ride because there was only one horse available (the other was pregnant), but it’s something i will definitely do when i visit next time.

Food & Budget
There’s a restaurant on-site if you want to eat, and because I didn’t try their food so I can’t speak on prices or taste. They also allow people to bring in their own food which is actually commendable.
My entire trip, including transport and food, cost me less than ₵500, which honestly makes it such a budget-friendly getaway.
Travel Tips
If you’re planning to visit, wear comfortable clothes (it’s an outdoorspace, so comfort is key). Take cash and carry a small bag for your essentials Oh, and before heading back home, please buy some meat from the meat seller ‘abochi’ -You will thank me later.
