The hashtag #Jamzalbum quickly started trending on Twitter as many diehard Sarkodie fans and other music lovers shared their two cents regarding the latest project of Africa’s most decorated rapper.
Just hours after making waves with the release of his seventh album, Sarkodie was back in the news for joining the exclusive Golden Club on Africa’s biggest music streaming and download platform, Boomplay. He achieved this incredible feat by gaining 100 million streams from his catalogue on the renowned streaming platform.
This accomplishment makes Sarkodie the second Ghanaian musician to join Boomplay’s Golden Club after the trailblazing trap music sensation Black Sherif, who joined the club in June 2022. The two Ghanaians take their place in the club alongside some of Africa’s biggest music talents like Wizkid, Davido, Fireboy DML, and Burna Boy.
Sarkodie was the most streamed musician on Boomplay in 2021, according to the platform’s annual recap. Boomplay will reveal its 2022 recap in a few weeks, and everyone is eager to know whether more accolades are in store for Sarkodie.
