Seth Mensah Wins Ghana Menswear Week 2022 ‘The Style Man Project’

Young Ghanaian men’s wear designer Seth Mensah has won the KGL Foundation-sponsored STYLE MAN PROJECT fashion competition as part of this year’s Ghana Men’s wear week #GHMW event held at the World Trade Center Accra on August 28.

The Style Man Project is a CSR Initiative of the menswear week organization, which aims to unearth, nurture, and manage the next generation of men’s wear designers and project their creativity worldwide. There were three (3) finalists, Seth Mensah, Gabriel Edem Kumah and Hannah Awotwe, selected through online applications and tasked to create four (4) looks from sustainable Tie Dye fabrics.

The finalists were judged based on creativity, uniqueness, talent and the correct use of fabrics for perfect delivery of the final attires by Faith Senam (Fashion PR Specialist), Emmanuel Ekuban (Creative Director, Debonair Afrik) and Nana Mensah (Founder Ghana Menswear Week) who served as the competition jury.

Their unique creations were showcased on the runway of Ghana Menswear week 2022, where the winner was announced in front of the live Ghana men’s wear week audience amid thunderous applause and excitement.

For his prize, Seth will be given an opportunity to participate in an international fashion week facilitated by KGL Foundation, a brand new Mondrian Pro phone from TECNO Mobile Ghana, a year of brand management, mentoring and PR services from E’april PR and www.melangeafrica.com and a look book photo shoot from Vine Imagery, all partners of the event.

Meanwhile, the 2022 event #RenaissanceMan will premiere on September 10 virtually via selected online platforms and Gh One TV Ghana (DSTV Channel 361 & GO TV Chanel 179) across Africa and featuring talented Ghanaian designers such as Kojo Boadi, Mayaase Signature, Eccentric Clothing, Jay Ray Fashion, El Bryte and Body Lab from Nigeria, Ibrahim Fernandez, Samarra, Studio Madoch from Ivory Coast, Kais Divo Collection from Uganda as well as collections from the Style Man Project Finalists. Ghana Menswear week 2022 was produced by Fame Model Management and sponsored by TECNO Mobile Ghana, KGL Foundation, Hectors Underwear and partnered by www.melangeafrica.com, Debonair Afrik, Vine Imagery, Models & Agencies Network of Ghana, West Africa Modeling Awards, Mr Model Africa organization.
