Dahamani Tung-Teiya, known on stage as Teiya, has emerged winner of TV3’s Ghana’s Most Beautiful Pageant Show. The young graduate of the University of Development Studies battled it out with four other contestants to win the ultimate prize and prestigious title after eleven other competitors were evicted.
Queen Teiya is passionate about embarking on a project to reduce the rate of Kayaye, particularly among women who travel from her region to engage in Kayaye as a means of survival.
Per judges’ scores and votes from the general public, Aiko from the Oti Region emerged 1st runner up with Central Region’s Asiedua emerging 2nd runner-up. Eastern region’s Amoani took up the 3rd runner-up position, with Volta Region’s Xornam emerging as 4th runner-up.
The grand finale of the 2022 edition of the beauty contest took place on 9th October 2022 at the National Theatre.
The 15th edition of the beauty contest, organized under the theme, ‘Ghana’s beauty, Africa’s pride, brought together representatives from each of the sixteen regions in Ghana to showcase and educate the world about their culture.
The pageant for the past years has been a great platform to appreciate and know more about Ghanaian heritage and cultural values.
