Kumasi Fashion Week returned with the 7th edition, starting Friday, May 26 to Sunday, May 28, 2023. The annual event’s goal is to discover new fashion talents, empowering them to go beyond the ordinary as well as celebrate the existing major brands not just in Kumasi but across Africa.
This year’s edition was themed “Beyond Culture, Commerce and Couture”. On day 1, organizers hosted guests to a fashion sale and exhibition at the food court of the Kumasi City Mall and a welcome fashion party later in the day.
A fashion seminar themed “Positioning your start-up for impact” took place on Saturday, hosted by Akuvi Adjabs with seasoned experts like John Badu Bonsu, Elorm Sika Amankwa, and Akosuah Amankwah as panel members.
The much-anticipated runway session was staged later on Saturday evening preceded by a graduate show, a red carpet session hosted by Evelyn Konadu, and the Next Generation runway created to identify new talents and to give their brands a jump start into the industry through mentorship, workshops, and training opportunities.
On Sunday, the climax for this year’s Kumasi Fashion Week was held. It was a Fashion Networking Brunch that attracted various Ghanaian fashion enthusiasts and industry experts.
