The 6th edition of Ghana’s Menswear week had the street buzzing with excitement for the event, which was entertaining and educative, as promised. This year’s event of GHMW was in partnership with TECNO Mobile Ghana, KGL foundation, Hector’s underwear and supported by E’April public relations, Melange Africa, Vine imagery, Debonair Afrik, and African Dream Studios, FashionghTv, Ceejay Multimedia, Glamszons Ghana, and many more.
Let’s run you through some key highlights from the event.
On Saturday, Aug 27, the organizers held a fashion dialogue at the Accra British Council, themed “Forging creative alliance in fashion, collaboration over competition,” which was moderated by Fashion PR Specialist Faith Senam. She was joined by industry experts Patrick P. Asante ( CEO Eccentric Clothing), Emmanuel Ekuban (DebonairAfrik Studio), Hector Obeng ( CEO Hector groups), Selina Bebaako- Mensah ( CEO Selina Beb) and Stephen N. Boadi (Enable Growth Consult) who lectured on the topic “Building an effective online marketing strategy that works.

On Sunday, the runway saw 15 incredible collections from designers not just from Ghana but across Africa. They include Kojo Boadi, Eccentric Clothing, Dzramdoh, Jayray fashion, Mayaasi signature, Samarra, Ibrahim Fernandez, Studio Madoch, Body Lab, El Bryt, Kai’s Divo collection, and Hector’s, plus the three finalists of the KGL Style Man Project designer competition also showcased their designs.
Seth Mensah was crowned the winner of the KGL Style Man Project designer competition, his prizes were a smartphone from Tecno Mobile, a one-year consultation with E’April PR firm, and KGL, the sponsor of the project, will help him build his brand.

In an interview with Seth, he said even though he was nervous to enter the competition, he enjoyed the experience. He added that the style man project has been a great platform for emerging designers like him and would encourage other young designers to hone and leverage their skills in the future. He said he is excited about the opportunities coming his way and grateful to the organizers of GHMW and the sponsors.
The red carpet was full of the trendiest styles from Africa’s thriving fashion scene, and the runway session did not fail to play the part. Check out some special runway moments from the just ended Ghana MensWear Week.
